please make it sound like a 7th grade textbook. thanks!!How would a german textbook in the 1940s define the term nazis?
Hi,

It would be the 'National Socialist German Workers Party '(NSDAP) abbreviated to represent German. The nickname "Nazis"came from the Germans first. The blurb would read something like this. "The NSDAP came to power through our great Fuhrer, Adolph Hitler in order to protect the German people and German workers from Bolsheviks and Communists. In order to return Germany to its glory and right the wrongs of former damaging peace treaties, it was necessary to expand into Austria and attack the menace of Poland whereby the Allies declared war on Germany which left our Fatherland no other choice but to attack and declare war. In this pursuit it was necessary to carry out ethnic cleansing to weed out spies and traitors among us. The Nazis will ensure victory and peace for all once its work has been done."How would a german textbook in the 1940s define the term nazis?
What do you mean when you say "the 1940s"?

For the years between 1940 and 1945, Benjamin's answer is not bad.

But for the years 1945-1949, the textbook would either do its best to ignore the National Socialist (Nazi) party as much as possible, or admit that it was responsible for the destruction of much of Germany and the loss of millions of lives.
