Can i effectively base a website on a textbook without infringing copyright laws?

I wana base alot of the content of my website on a textbook i've read. How does the copyright laws involved work? Can i just reference their stuff? Can i effectively base a website on a textbook without infringing copyright laws?
It depends. If the textbook acknowledges an external source, you may have to ask for permission. It would be better to ask for permission from the creator(s) of the textbook itself. Rewording is good, but don't do it too much. You might just be plagiarizing content too much. Can i effectively base a website on a textbook without infringing copyright laws?
You can reword the stuff and credit the textbook. As long as you credit them, it is OK.Can i effectively base a website on a textbook without infringing copyright laws?
If all the "Substance" of your website is based solely on a single text book then definitely YOU must give credit to the holder's of the book's copyright AND it is strongly advisable to request "Written" permission. In this way, it is clear that you are not plagiarizing or infringing on the copyright.

Secondly, even if you receive permission--it better to reword and partially rewrite some of the material than straight forward copy the material from the text book. You can re-write the material to be more easily understood by your target audience. And since your stated purpose is to "Base" the website on the text it would not be appropriate to simply cop/paste. If you use multiple sources to support whatever the subject is--the Site will generally be a better source of reference.
