How do most people study a textbook?

I am not a fan of reading textbooks in the first place but what works for most of you? How is it you gain the knowledge? Highlight? Outline? Give me some tips please.How do most people study a textbook?

I belive that would be an ecumenical matter.How do most people study a textbook?
I've found that the best way is to read a section over once. Then skim over it again and take notes of the important details. That way you can reference them later. Also, DO NOT read out loud to yourself, it is very distracting.
