Can they really hold you back for losing a textbook?

I lost my spanish textbook and I got a paper in the mail that says if we dont pay the fine i have to repeat the grade. Will that really happen or is it just a threat?Can they really hold you back for losing a textbook?
It will really happen. I know someone who didn't graduate because they lost their calculus book and didn't pay the fine.



Your best bet is to either pay the fine or see if you can buy a replacement book. It would probably be cheaper to buy a replacement; you can look on amazon or ebay or a find a textbook seller's website and buy a used one that is really cheap, just make sure it is the right text book.
