How should one read a textbook?

I find that there is so much information to remember, how is a person to remember it all.

What are some ways of reading the textbook and retaining all the information. Does it come naturally to people? How should one read a textbook?
Make sure your mind I'd clear and stay focused on your book make sure you have no distractions and your mind is only focused on the subject your reading
Personally I find contextual reading to be at times tricky. That's why textbooks apply to classroom situations; the teacher will point out the significance of each topic, and highlight the most important points in that. Science makes this especially tough because it's way easy to get caught up in the math formulas and miss the basic principles. My best suggestion is to look at the index and chapter titles; they tell you what is to be gotten out of that specific portion. How should one read a textbook?
A technical textbook is read with a pencil/pen :%26gt;)
Concentrate on what you are reading and understand each thing.read with interest to gain knowledge not for writing exams.Don't think of anything while reading. How should one read a textbook?
Make some rounds of reading

Firstly read it until you understand it( Don't solve any problems now)

Then once you feel you have understood then try to recollect what all you can.

Things which you can't recall read them once again.

Later once you fell you know the topic at the best you can then try out the problems!!!
Left to Right.
