Ebay has an option to print postage and the shipping label then pay for it directly from your paypal account. Assuming you know the weight and have it boxed, you can print the label w/ postage and hand it to your letter carrier.

I would wrap it in cardboard and use that wide Scotch packing tape to seal it up. I've used that method for lots of items I didn't have a box for.

Books can be sent at the post office by their Media Mail class, a very low rate considering how much books weigh.

If you don't have a digital scale, you'll have to take it to the post office.
