Are there any differences between textbook editions?

I'm buying my textbooks before college starts in the fall but I bought the wrong textbook edition from what my health class will be using. I bought the: Your Health Today; Choices in a Changing Society 2nd Edition Textbook, but actually I will need the 3rd edition. I wanted to know if there is any differences between textbook editions? Are the pages very different? Are there any differences between textbook editions?
There's usually not many substantive changes between recent editions. Maybe some chapters will be slightly edited or revised, but nothing major. You should be fine with the edition purchased. (You can always skim through the current edition to be sure.)Are there any differences between textbook editions?
Usually older editions are alright in humanities and social sciences, but in science and in mathematics classes, you might have a little trouble.

E-mail your professor to verify. They might take the first day of classes to talk about the textbook, and to be honest, a lot of profs out there are honest people who want to save their students a buck or two, and may even suggest older editions. (:

Just drop him/her an e-mail to be sure!
