I do not know of any restriction as to your own personal notes. there are clift notes to help students study and that should be the same. It is improper to answer homeowrk questions and to sell them. But just making an overview of the text as to personal notes are personal product.



I am not sure what the copyright laws might be as to using their textbook to sell. You are in effect just summarizing the textbook. You can always write tothe autor and ask for permission to publish your notes on his/her text. You mgith want to discuss this with a copyright attorney if you really believe you can make money on this issue.



You cannot promise anything as a result of your notes. Can't promise to pass.



Thechances of the author finding out might not be gone unless someone is upset. If you and another have the same answers and it is not correct, then the professor may call you on it and think you cheated. Have to be careful to give all credit on wording so as not to plagarize.

Where did you get the information for the notes? From a teacher giving a lecture? Depending upon what you wrote down, the teacher owns the copyright in his or her words, but not the ideas. If you write down the ideas, you are the "author" of that work. You own the right to license copies of your works to others.
